| VENUE: Banyan & Casuarina Rooms, Ground Floor, Sime Darby Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur Background The Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM), is the advocate for the business and professional interests of the engineering consultancy industry. The consulting engineering industry is a knowledge-based industry directly involved in the planning, design, management and supervision of all types of engineering projects in the country. Our "oldest" member firm is 86 years old and was established in Malaysia in 1924 and this industry has since expanded tremendously. The consulting engineering industry is constantly facing different challenges from government procurement systems to unorthodox local council rulings. ACEM is at the forefront in addressing these issues as well as continuously striving to create a better business environment for the industry. This is not easy but for the tireless efforts and commitment of the council members, both past and present, and some very dedicated members who unstintingly give their time; ACEM continues to play its role and fulfill its responsibility to its members and the industry. This forum is organized to update members and fellow engineers on current issues facing the industry and ACEM’s role in addressing them. We hope that members will take this opportunity to air their views and make suggestions on how ACEM can create a better business environment for the engineering consultancy practice. Ultimately, we hope this forum will help strengthen our ACEM network for the enhancement of the industry. Objective - To provide feedback to ACEM members, engineering consultancy firms and consulting engineers on current issues and actions taken by ACEM to address them.
- To provide a platform for members to air their views and forward suggestions on how best to address current challenges facing the industry and how ACEM can help support its members.
