BEIT is a software tool to assess energy use in buildings and is developed for the Green Building Index (GBI) Malaysia. This workshop will teach participants how to use BEIT to calculate OTTV, RTTV, BEI and simple ROI.

Continuing Professional Development
This workshop is eligible for 4 CPD hours for Professional Engineers registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, and a Certificate of Attendance will be issued subject to full attendance.
An application must be made to the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia, fulfilling the following requirements:
The applicant must be a Malaysian citizen.
The applicant must have a basic understanding of OTTV, RTTV and building energy usage.
There is NO registration fee for the workshop. This training/outreach programme is funded by the Services Sector Capacity Development Fund from the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority.
Successful applicants will receive a confirmation by facsimile/e-mail, informing of the venue and the final programme of the workshop.
Once an application is approved,
the successful applicant is required to submit a commitment fee of RM150.00 to confirm his/her seat – by crossed cheque issued to ‘The Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia.’ This commitment fee will be refunded if the applicant attends the workshop.

Limited seats are available for each session. Registration for each session will close upon approval of the maximum number of applications or the specified closing date, whichever is earlier.
Participants MUST bring their own laptop, installed with Microsoft Windows XP (or higher) and Microsoft Office Excel, version 2003 and above. Each participant will receive the BEIT Version 1.0 software and workshop materials.

Malaysia’s Green Building Index was introduced on 3 January 2009, at the Green Design Forum organized by the Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM). A preview of the Green Building Index for Non-residential and Residential buildings were presented by Ir. Chen Thiam Leong and Ar. Chan Seong Aun respectively.
