| Venue: | The Women’s Institute of Management 7, Jalan Abang Haji Openg Taman Tun Dr Ismail 60000 Kuala Lumpur | Introduction Infrared thermography is used to perform Predictive Maintenance (PdM) inspections for electrical equipment as high resistance (P=I2R) in electrical apparatus indicates electrical faults such as poor connections, overloading or unbalanced load circuits, presence of harmonics, faulty circuit breakers, damaged switches, faulty fuse or fuse contacts and a wide range of other unforeseen electrical conditions. Before an electrical component fails, part of the electrical energy is converted to heat energy, thus raising the temperature to unacceptable levels. Infrared thermography is used to locate the hot spots so faults can be located quickly and maintenance personnel can either monitor or act to rectify the fault before the electrical component fails, leading to unscheduled downtime, loss of production, resulting in safety hazards to both plant and personnel. Who Should Attend We strongly encourage Electricians, Technical Assistants, Engineers, Electrical Supervisors and those involved in the operation and maintenance of electrical plant/building equipment to attend the course to keep abreast of the latest information. This is an introduction to infrared thermography. No prior infrared thermography experience is necessary.
