MATRADE is delighted to share the good news on the new Market Development Grant (MDG) initiatives announced on June 17, 2021.
The new initiative is to assist SMEs in cushioning the impact of COVID-19.
The expanded scope in MDG is to cover the following five (5) initiatives;
i. Addressing the increased cost for export;
ii. Addressing the loss due to cancellation or postponement of export promotion activities;
iii. International Certification registration for export;
iv. Intellectual Property (IP) registration for the international market; and
v. Branding and advertising for exports including on digital platforms.
The application starts from 15 July 2021 until 29 January 2022. All applications for activities undertaken from 1 January 2021 to 14 July 2021 must be before or on 12 August 2021. All applications for activities undertaken from 15 July 2021 onwards must be within 30 days from the activity start date.

All eligible Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to apply for the grant.
